Culinary Experience in Negombo

This culinary experience in Negombo introduces participants to the traditional flavors and cooking techniques of Sri Lankan coastal cuisine, focusing on Negombo’s unique culinary heritage influenced by local fishing practices and cultural exchanges. Following the market visit, participants will tour a traditional fisherman’s home to gain insights into local customs, lifestyle, and fishing tools.

The hands-on cooking workshop covers essential techniques such as cooking with clay pots, firewood stoves, and authentic seasoning methods.The workshop also introduces participants to the unique spices central to Sri Lankan cooking, such as cinnamon, turmeric, cardamom, and cloves, as well as coconut in various forms (milk, oil, grated), which is a staple ingredient in many local dishes.

Participants receive take-home recipe cards and a jar of local spices, allowing them to recreate the authentic flavors of Sri Lanka in their own kitchens.

  • Cancellation Policy:

  • More Than 72 hours before the event: Full refund of the amount paid
  • 48–72 hours before the event: 50% of the total amount will be charged as a cancellation fee
  • Less than 48 hours before the event: No refund will be issued
